Q: I currently use a canon pixma 6620 for printing edible images however it never actually prints. The correct color from the screen. Is it because it is an old printer? How would this printer actually print same colors as on screen? Example royal blue or different shades of blue.

A: Edible ink does not have the same pigmentation as regular ink, thus certain shades will print different than they look on the computer screen. That being said, if the color is not even close the printer likely has a clog and needs a cleaning.

A: It's not a printer fault. It's low quality ink in combination with no regular maintenance or low usage.

Q: How many sheets does this printer print. I used a brand once that you physically had to babysit the printer and place each individual sheet in the printer one at a time. I also had a Cannon printer that you could put 20 sheets in the printer at one time.

A: It's not recommended to feed more than one sheet into edible printers to avoid paper jam and contamination since you printing on food basically

Q: Hello. I was on a chat here on this site earlier today and the person recommended this printer to me but it shows out of stock. I have the MP-CW8-K3 purchased in 2017 which no longer prints black ink so I am interested in the latest models if they have improved performance than the printer I before. Q: I would like to know what happens to any old ink after it has reached the best before date. Is there a way of draining the old ink off and then replacing with new ink?

A: Ink has 24 months expiration date . If 100 mil of ink ( one bottle ) is not used in particular time frame than it should be discarded ...if you think you will not use it than ADF or CW8 printer is better solution for you

A: Printer should not clog with standard use and recommended maintenance. For worry free systems we recommend cartridge based printers such are elite plus or CW8

A: I would recommend Elite Plus if you buying your first printer or CW8 wide format since they don't require maintenance. Pro model is for experienced, high volume users . Cost for print is about $0.10 per sheet , however maintenance is necessary on weekly basis if you don't print at least 10 sheets per week.

Q: I'm so glad that I've seen your site about using these Canon Endurance printers. I can't purchase the printer from you as I'm in Australia but have bookmarked for your other items! I just have a quick question - I have this printer - new in the box - and I put some edible ink and it's printing beautifully - my question is the little cartridges that you insert into the middle of the printer - is there anything in those - eg; ink or anything else - or are they simply used to feed the edible ink through? Im just so nervous about using the printer for my customers (I've been using the CAnon ix 6860 for the past 6 years) Thanks in advance for your reply - just don't want to poison anyone!

Replacing the Maintenance Cartridge

Description

Learn how to replace the maintenance cartridge

Solution

Replacing Maintenance Cartridge

If the displayed message indicates that the maintenance cartridge is nearly full, promptly obtain a new one. If the maintenance cartridge becomes full, an error message is displayed and the printer stops working until it is replaced with a new one.
Don't touch the terminal (A) or opening (B) of the maintenance cartridge.

When purchasing a new maintenance cartridge, order the Maintenance Cartridge MC-G02.

Remove the new maintenance cartridge and the attached plastic bag from the package.

Turn the printer off.

Unlock the coin screw from the maintenance cover (C).

Put your finger on the hole of the maintenance cover and remove it.

Pull out the maintenance cartridge until it stops.

Slightly lift the maintenance cartridge and pull it out.
Be careful not to drop or place the removed maintenance cartridge on a desk or something. Dirt on the bottom may adhere to it or the ink inside may be scattered. Put the used one immediately into the plastic bag attached to the new maintenance cartridge and seal the bag by tying the opening tightly to prevent the ink from leaking. Do not put your hands inside the printer, as ink may adhere to your hands. Dispose of the removed maintenance cartridge according to local regulations.

Insert the new maintenance cartridge straight until it stops.

Align the tab on the back of the maintenance cover with the hole on the printer and close it.

Insert the coin screw into the screw hole and turn it clockwise to secure.

Turn printer ON
